New 20mph Zones - Oops!

It's become fairly obvious to the residents of Brislington and St. Anne's that the 20mph speed limit is upon us since the recent installation of 20mph signs on the lamp posts in the area.

Last week, the workers arrived to mark the roads as well. We're guessing they're on a tight timescale, as the work is being carried out at a fair old rate of knots.

From this, We suppose mistakes are bound to happen? Newbridge Road in St. Anne's is a good example!

Further traffic bedlam to hit St. Anne's

For several months now, Langton Road has been reduced to a single lane across the railway bridge due to the separate footbridge being closed, presumably due to the lack of council funding for repairs?

A few months back, Arlington Road, a well known rat-run for morning commuters, was closed temporarily due to ongoing investigation into a collapsed main sewer. It now seems the road will be closed for two weeks so a new sewer can be installed in the road to replace the damaged one behind the houses.

As far as the commuters go, we're guessing they will find another route, but with the already congested roads, where will the residents in Arlington Road park their cars?

Luckily, on the day the last picture was taken, people were at work, leaving lots of parking spaces!

20mph Zones come to Brislington

It seems the Speed Fairy visited the area in the last few days and attached 20mph signs to the lamp posts. Not sure when all this comes into effect, but no doubt it'll be difficult to police?

How long before the Residents Parking Zones arrive too?
